This is a post I have been looking forward to doing.  I have quite a few photos in which I have edited with a single color highlighted and the rest of the image is left in monochrome.  This week I am doing my favorite selective color which is RED!  Red is an easy color to isolate and it is BOLD! I like the way it pops in the pictures.  These images would not speak the same way if they were in standard color scheme.

Lady in RedSkycrane helicopter on Ramp

This image is of part of a Sikorsky Skycrane Helicopter.  They are among the largest helicopters in the world and used in the United States to lift a lot of weight, hence the name.  This particular ship was on a fire in California and was sitting on the ramp early in the morning when I took this photo.

Red ApriliaProfessional Motorcycle Racer at PIR, Oregon.

 Portland International Raceway is a well known track in the Pacific Northwest.  On this day it was full of motorcyclists and in particular this Aprilia which took its turn at a lunch break.  The pro rider has a nice lean and knee drag and is preparing to hit a long straightaway after completing the turn.

This is a look inside a hot air balloon while it is still on the ground getting blown up. The kaleidoscope of colors was also neat but I love seeing the lines and texture with the pop of red here.

​This is an air tanker.   They can be used to drop water or retardant for fire suppression. This particular one was at an airshow and giving a demonstration.  

Red TulipA sea of flowers but the red tulips catch my eye.

Red DodgeOld Dodge in Field.

This old dodge truck sits on a hillside overlooking a country road in southern Washington.  I did a lot of editing to this image but I love the artistic look it takes on.   I think it would make a good card.
