What is the basis behind abstract photography then you may ask?  Sometimes called non-objective, experimental or conceptual photography, it is a means of depicting a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the world and that has been created through the use of photographic equipment, processes or materials.

Today we will cover some digitally edited images that I feel highlight the subject.

Blown Glass or a melting of paint colors?  One of my favorites done in Photoshop with an artistic tool.  The original image had a green background and a red subject which now is illegible as it has been twisted and swirled into this image in which reminds me of blown glass.

Into the Abyss. This image reminds me so much of a deep endless ocean and an alien explorer going to the unknown but what is this image really?  This is a highly enhanced photo of an acrobatic airplane at an airshow.  In my mind it is so much better to think of it as the abyss though!

Fire AntAbstract Digital Edit of a Dragon Fly

Dragon Fly.  This is as it says; a dragon fly on a stick.   The image has been digitally enhanced in Photoshop and I enjoy the bright colors and areas of outlined detail.

Maybe not so abstract as you cannot see what the intended subject is but defiantly artistic in the fact that no horse is purple, blue and orangy-yellow. This reminds me of a brightly colored horse related artist my mom likes.

As mentioned above there are many ways to do abstracts.  I call this digital edits and I hope you enjoyed seeing the world, abstractly, through my lens this week!
